Living Space:
Bearded Collies are energetic dogs that thrive in environments where they have plenty of room to move around. They can be adaptable to apartment living as long as they receive sufficient exercise, but they are more comfortable in homes with a yard where they can play and explore.
Exercise:
They require regular, vigorous exercise to keep them happy and healthy. Daily walks, playtime, and mental stimulation are crucial. Ideally, they should have access to outdoor areas where they can run off-leash and engage in activities.
Climate:
Bearded Collies do well in a variety of climates but may require extra protection in extreme conditions. In hot weather, they need shaded areas and ample water to prevent overheating, while in cold climates they should have a cozy place indoors.
Grooming:
With a long, flowing coat, Bearded Collies require considerable grooming attention. Regular brushing is essential to prevent mats and tangles, particularly during shedding seasons. Their coats need careful maintenance to keep them looking their best.
Independence:
Though generally friendly and social, Bearded Collies can be independent and tolerate being left alone for short periods. However, they thrive best with company and regular interaction, as they can become lonely without sufficient companionship and activity.
