Living Space:
Cairn Terriers are quite adaptable and can live comfortably in an apartment or a house, as they do not require extensive space. However, it is beneficial to have a yard where they can play and expend energy.
Exercise:
They are energetic dogs that need regular walks and playtime. Access to outdoor areas or parks is ideal to help them stay fit and mentally stimulated.
Climate:
Cairn Terriers can adapt to various climates but do best in moderate temperatures. Extreme heat or cold requires protection as they may not tolerate it well.
Grooming:
Their wiry coat requires regular grooming to maintain its health. Brushing several times a week and occasional trimming or stripping are necessary, especially during periods of increased shedding.
Independence:
These dogs are generally comfortable being left alone for a few hours but thrive in environments where they have regular human interaction and companionship.
