Living Space:
Finnish Spitz dogs are adaptable to different living environments but benefit from having enough space to move freely. They can live in an apartment if given sufficient exercise but thrive in a house with a yard where they can explore and run.
Exercise:
This breed requires regular, vigorous exercise due to their high energy levels. Daily walks, playtime, and opportunities to run freely are ideal to keep them physically and mentally stimulated.
Climate:
Finnish Spitz are well-suited for colder climates due to their thick coat, but they also adapt to moderate climates. However, they should be protected from extreme heat through access to shade and water, as well as from extreme cold when temperatures drop too low.
Grooming:
The Finnish Spitz has a dense double coat that requires regular brushing to prevent mats and control shedding. During shedding seasons, more frequent grooming is necessary to manage the heavy shedding.
Independence:
While Finnish Spitz enjoy companionship and are known for their loyalty, they can tolerate being left alone for short periods. However, they much prefer being with their families and can become lonely if left alone too often.
