Living Space:
American Eskimo Dogs are adaptable and can live comfortably in apartments as long as they get plenty of exercise. They do not necessarily need a large yard, but having access to outdoor space for play and exercise would be beneficial.
Exercise:
They require regular walks and playtime, so consistent physical activity in outdoor areas is ideal to keep them happy and healthy.
Climate:
They have a thick coat which makes them well-suited to moderate to cooler climates. However, they should be monitored closely in extreme heat to avoid overheating.
Grooming:
American Eskimo Dogs have a dense, double coat that requires regular grooming to prevent matting and manage seasonal shedding.
Independence:
They enjoy company and may not do well alone for extended periods. A few hours by themselves is manageable, but they thrive in environments where they have companionship.
